This show features a full array of Saddle Seat, Hunt Seat and Western classes for American Saddlebreds, Morgans, Arabians, Hackneys, Friesians, Quarter Horses and Road Horses. Our 2-night schedule has been designed with the exhibitor AND the spectator in mind. No qualifiers. It's a throwback to the old Saturday night shootouts. One chance to nail your best performance. Great money, awesome trophies, a capacity spectator crowd,a very special award to the winner of the Gaited Stake and a Friday night Exhibitors Party you're sure to enjoy.

We offer two UPHA Challenge Cup classes - one for 17 and under riders the the second for 10 and under Walk/Trot !
$500 Open English Pleasure class.
$750 Hunt Seat Pleasure class.

$1000 Three-Gaited Stake!
$2500 Five-Gaited Stake!

Show News:
We will be introducing the new Patricia Crane sculpture, "Supreme Sultan" at the Summer Challenge of Champions. This new head study, based on the artist's life-size bronze at the Horse Park in Lexington, KY will be awarded to 25 Class Champions. A variety of special awards will be going to the winners in the other 15 classes.&nbs&nbsThe winner of the Gaited Stake will be receiving a double matted, framed Artist Proof copy of "Battle of the Giants" by the late Helen Hayse. &nbs&nbsA special commemorative afghan tapestry (52" x 68") has been designed for the show and will be available in limited quantities at the KVHA merchandise booth.&nbs&nbsDana's Doodles has designed a special show logo for the Summer Challenge of Champions based on the "Battle of the Giants". We'll have a varity of shirts T's and sweats) and other "official" show items featuring this very special art work.&nbs&nbsOn Saturday afternoon, prior to the start of the evening session, KVHA will be hosting an afternoon of music and special exhibitions in the show ring. We'll have live bluegrass music to entertain and a variety of presentations to educate. We've lined up representaives from the world of Dressage, Sport Horse and the new West Virginia Reigning Horse Association.

Morning Wake-Up Service
-Friday and Saturday mornings at the Show Office We'll be serving complimentary donuts and coffee to the early risers on the grounds. Once you've gotten your critters watered and fed, come on down to the Office for a pick-me-up.
Presentation of Exhibitors
-Saturday night, preceeding the 5-Gaited Stake. The announcer will be introducing each competitor in the final class of the show. This class, with it's big money and special awards to the winner, always draws a large and competitive field. And the enthusiastic spectator crowd, six deep on the rail, will be cheering on their favorites for the entire class. The Gaited stake at the Summer Challenge always wraps up the show on a high note.

Exhibitors and Sponsors Party

Friday night, August 5, following the last class. We host our exhibitor parties in the indoor arena. We'll have LIVE MUSIC, great food, desserts, drinks, etc. If you're visiting this website, even if you're not showing a horse at the Summer Challenge of Champions, you're more than welcome to attend.
