Welcome to the admin help section. This section covers what we've found to be the main questions people have when adding their
 listing.

(1) How much is a listing?
All listings are free unless you choose to purchase a Featured Listing.  Horse Show Central's purpose is to be an informative and useful site for absolutely everyone, so we allow everyone to enter a listing.

(2) Free? Then what is a Featured Listing?
A featured listing always displays above free lisitngs.
A featured listing also displays in rotation on the HSC home page.
A featured listing has other added bonuses, and is basically a larger format with greater options
available to promote your horse, or products, or the services you offer the public.

(3) I notice in my admin area, there are buttons with different colors.... What's that all about?
OK. All our listings require a minimum amount of information to be completed before your listing can be shown,  and there are  other sections which you can fill out if you like, but need not.

This color is for sections already completed. You can edit these if you wish anytime.

This color is for sections not yet completed, that MUST be completed for your listing to show.

This color is for sections of your listing not yet completed, that you need only complete if you wish.

(4) I've started filling in my listing but I'm just too busy right now to finish it. What's going to happen to it?
If you've started filling it in and clicked on any of the SAVE buttons, your details will be saved, and you can come back later and finish it later. If you've already completed all the sections with RED buttons, your listing will already be live and showing.

If you've got no RED buttons still showing when you stop, then your listing will go live. If you've still got some red buttons showing, your listing will not go live till you log back in and complete your listing details.

(5) What is a discounted featured listing ?  Can we do a link trade?
The price of a yearly featured ad is discounted if you place an "approved" link to HSC on the home page of your own website.  The wording of this link will be approved by both you and HSC.  Is is even possible to have more than one discounted featured listing in this same way.  However, if we cannot detect this link from your home page, your listing will revert to a free listing, with no refund. Of course we will email first, if we cannot detect the link.  

(6) I want a banner, how do they work?
Banners rotate in the header of every HSC page.. that's a lot of pages.  Banners are a fairly inexpensive way to bring you more visitors.
The bad news is, that only a few banner slots are available each year.  Email Horse Show Central to inquire about availabilty.

(7) OK, I want a banner, but I don't have my own web site! What now?
No problem. Create a listing on our site. Purchase a banner, then record your listing id number against the banner. When someone clicks on the banner, they get taken to your Horse Listing page.

(8) What are sponsored links and how do I get one ?
You will find a limited number of sponsored links on the left hand side of the homepage and all site pages. Each is a very short, and very
direct link to your own website.  Again, email HSC and/or check the "advertising' tab , for details.
