In the fertile farm land of Central Tennessee, came a horse that the plantation owners needed, a hardy horse with great endurance and comfortable gait, for many long hours were spent in the saddle checking farm operations and conditions of crops. This horse has the needed easy gaits, endurance and also fineness and stamina. Its disposition was quiet and tractable. Today because of these qualities, Tennessee Walking horses are found all over America, as pleasure horses and as show horses. Their unique gait, the running walk, is a natural gait and gives the rider the feeling of skimming along a few inches off the ground.... but with great speed!
