Horse Shows Events located in North Carolina

HorseShowCentral > Shows Calendar > North Carolina
Find North Carolina horse shows here, with names, dates, location, and types of classes that each of the NC shows offer. In North Carolina, shows events take place in all 100 counties of the state. There are over 200 shows in the state each year. NC is horse-country and has been since the 1500’s. The Quarter Horse Janus was kept in NC, and so was Sir Archie (American TB foundation sire). The Carolinas and Virginia were known for fine horses before Kentucky built its reputation!

The largest group in North Carolina is the various breeds of light horses, with warmbloods being second. NC also has a state horse , The Spanish Colonial Mustang. Not only that, but Banker horses really still exist and live there as a now protected herd of wild horses, a remnant left from the time of Columbus.

NC shows events are well-attended, important to residents and to the many who come from out of state. The list of permanent structures and venues and the famous shows and events is very long!!

HSC invites you to join the Shows Calendar Community.
