 Stated Purpose of Association-Club:
The NWHA improves the lives of horses and people by encouraging responsibility and sportsmanship. It promotes educational and recreational activities while preserving the unique qualities of the Walking Horse.

Effective immediately, the NWHA Board of Directors approved the following rule change: Black hoof polish is prohibited. Only clear hoof polish is allowed at NWHA-affiliated shows and events

  Featured Programs or Goals
Trail - Trail Rider Incentive Program (T.R.I.P.) is designed for those who would rather spend a day on the trails than anywhere else. T.R.I.P. is for the weekend trail rider as well as those who spend several days a week exploring America's trails.Competitive Horse Incentive Program (C.H.I.P) is designated for NWHA members who compete in any kind of competitive trail event such as competitive trail rides or endurance rides. Riders accrue mileage at sanctioned Competitive Trail and Endurance rides.
Versatility (LSAP) - The Lifetime Superior Achievement Program (LSAP) is a versatility program for NWHA that has something for everyone who shows. Championships can be earned in English Pleasure, Western Pleasure, Versatility, and/or Model....more
High Point - Eligibility for year-end High Point awards requires horses to be shown and judged at a NWHA show in the current show year.In order for your horse to be eligible for NWHA's High Point Program, you must nominate your horse annually....more

The National Walking Horse Association is a non-profit 501.c.3 organization formed to increase public awareness of and promote the true and inherent abilities of the Walking Horse. NWHA offers its members many benefits. You may also support NWHA through donations to the Capital Campaign Fund or other NWHA programs (donations to NWHA are tax deductible). You may also use the www.iGive.com program, the Verizon matching incentive program, and the Southern States redemption program.
